The regular scheduled Workshop Meeting of the Woodsboro Town Council was held on Monday, May 23, 2005 at the Town Hall with the following members present:

Burgess Trimmer, Commissioners Morgan, Smith and Kline.

Absent from the meeting was Commissioner Hub.

Burgess Trimmer called the meeting to order and congratulated Scott Brakebill and Dennis Kline on their election wins.

A discussion was held on Commissioner Brakebill being the Planning and Zoning liaison and Commissioner Kline being the liaison for Streets.  Motion passed 3 – 0.

First line of business was with Mr. Lancaster and Mr. Miller representing the Lawson property.  A brief discussion was held on the pressure system that currently exists.  They propose that according to their engineer’s studies there doesn’t seem to be a problem.  They seem to think the problem may be with the plumbing in the homes.  Mr. Lancaster agreed to have his plumber look at the two houses on the hill to see if there is a reduction going from the plugs to the houses.  Commissioner Smith opened discussion on an existing well at the old farm house.  Mr. Lancaster agreed to check with the Health Department to see if the well would be useable by the town.  Commissioner Smith would also like to have a two year assurance, after the project is complete, from Mr. Lancaster covering any wrong doing.  Mr. Lancaster agreed to this arrangement.

Burgess Trimmer opened discussion on the new contract with Key Sanitation.  He informed the council that the monthly charge will be going up from $3374 to $5357.  This increase is due to the new landfill charges from the county.  After a brief discussion a motion was made and passed 3 -0 to charge $20 a quarter, per unit, per pick up beginning July 1, 2005.  Rosewood Condos will be excluded from this charge because

they have their own dumpster on site.  It was also decided that there will be no commercial stops.  Burgess Trimmer will communicate with Bob Clark of Key Sanitation to ensure how many units are being picked up.   Burgess Trimmer suggested that the town start setting aside funds for future projects.  The council held a brief discussion on this matter.

Commissioner Morgan informed the council of the landscaping at the park sign that was redone by Brownie Troop 1151.

Burgess Trimmer informed the council of the Lutherans painting in the park.  They painted the tables in the big pavilion and all the small pavilions by the lake.

Burgess Trimmer asked the council to consider donating the old key lockbox to the fire department.  The council agreed to do so.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,
