The Woodsboro Town Council met today at
Burgess Trimmer, Commissioners Smith, Kline, Brakebill and Morgan.
There was one citizen and two guests in attendance.
Burgess Trimmer called the meeting to order and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Burgess Trimmer opened by welcoming Frederick County Commissioner Mike Cady.
After a brief review of the minutes and no additions or corrections a motion was passed 4 – 0 to accept them as written.
The Financial Statement was reviewed. A motion was made to move $100,000 from the Water and Sewer Money Market and $100,000 from the Streets Money Market and put it into eight month CD’s. The motion was passed 4 – 0. A motion to accept the Financial Statement as presented was passed 4 – 0.
A brief discussion was held on a bill from Delauter & Sons for work they performed on James Street Ext. The Board questioned the additional $12,000 that appeared on that bill. Burgess Trimmer reported the extra was spent on hook ups and moving a fire hydrant that had to be done after the work had started. He explained that after they began to dig they discovered these problems. Problems that could not be seen until digging began. Burgess Trimmer stated that he approved the change order on this project. A motion was passed 4 – 0 to pay the bill as presented.
The next line of business was a question to Commissioner
Cady by Burgess Trimmer. Burgess Trimmer
asked about yard waste going into the Landfill.
Commissioner Cady reported that the
Burgess Trimmer informed the Board that the Letters of Credit on High’s still needed to be released. A motion was passed 4 – 0 to release these Letters of Credit.
Commissioner Brakebill reported on the upcoming Planning and Zoning meeting being held on January 11th at the Town Hall. He informed the Board that this will be the transitional meeting from Mr. Heath to Mr. Gugel. On the agenda is the Civil War Heritage Area Management Plan as well as the final sub-division plat for Nicole Ray.
Commissioner Morgan reported that Ron’s Landscaping will be planting trees in the next two weeks.
Commissioner Smith reported on the audit. He informed the Board there is one issue to be resolved yet.
Burgess Trimmer informed the Board that Woodbury
sub-division will be installing propane tanks underground. Burgess Trimmer informed the Board of a
discussion he had with
Mary reported on the Sewer Bond account at Woodsboro Bank. The town continues to get charged for this account going inactive. A motion was passed 4 – 0 to deposit $5 every other month to keep this account active.
Commissioner Cady reported on a Legislative Package and the
under age drinking bill. Commissioner
