The regular monthly meeting of the Woodsboro Town Council was held on Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at the Fire Hall at 7:00 pm. In attendance were Burgess Trimmer, Commissioners Morgan, Smith, Kline and Hub, Jim Gugel, Seymour Stern and 1 resident.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. The minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed. There being no corrections or additions, Burgess Trimmer said that the minutes would stand as presented.
The treasurer’s report was reviewed. The water/sewer statement was missing a line item for USDA (water loan) in the amount of $13,456.00 and the correct amount for Verizon was $140.54. This made the balance $4043.61. There is a water/sewer CD maturing 1/28/02. Commissioner Smith motioned to put the maturing CD into the water/sewer money market. Commissioner Kline seconded. Passed 4-0. Commissioner Kline motioned to approve the treasurer’s report with the above corrections. Commissioner Smith seconded. Passed 4-0.
The equipment in the park has been repaired. The new equipment will be installed as soon as possible.
There has still been no response from Copper Oaks Architectural Control Committee on an additional light at the upper entrance to Copper Oaks Drive.
Jim Gugel presented a text amendment to the Town’s zoning ordinance. F & M Bank has applied to change the ordinance so that a gas station would be permitted on the north end of town by the Medical Center. Commissioner Kline motioned to approve the text amendment. Commissioner Morgan seconded. Passed 4-0.
The Woodsboro Volunteer Fire Company’s banquet will be held at the Libertytown Fire Company on February 16, 2002.
The following bills were approved for payment: Roger Hub (web site), Allegheny Power, Woodsboro Florist, The Moore Store, Aero Energy, Frederick News-Post, GP’s Mobile Small Engine Repair, Woodsboro NAPA Auto Parts, Verizon, Gladhill Tractor, Key Sanitation, N. Z. Cramer, Comptroller of the Treasury, Woodsboro Bank, Postmaster, B & D Truck & Hoist, Arnold’s Septic, Maryland Department of the Environment (discharge permit ad), Kappe Assoc., Transply, Belair Road Supply, AT&T, and James Bell Electric.
There being no further business to discuss, Commissioner Morgan motioned to adjourn. Commissioner Smith seconded. Passed 4-0.
