The regular monthly meeting of the Woodsboro Town Council was held on Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at the Fire Hall at 7:00 pm. In attendance were Burgess Trimmer, Commissioners Morgan, Smith, Hub and Kline, and 2 residents.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. The minutes from the previous meeting were reviewed. There being no corrections or additions, Burgess Trimmer said the minutes would stand as presented.

The treasurer’s report was reviewed. Commissioner Kline motioned to accept the treasurer’s report. Commissioner Hub seconded. Passed 4-0.

Began testing the new well today. Hopefully complete by end of this week or first of next week.

We have a verbal commitment from MDE for an additional $500.000.00 grant and $100,000.00 loan. The bank has approved a $2.9 million loan.

The Town’s water ban is still in effect.

Hotel reservations have been made for MRWA and MML conferences.

Commissioner Hub said he would take care of the dumpster on Main Street.

Commissioner Smith said he heard that Lehigh might be done mining the small field between 550 to Coppermine Road in the next few years. He feels the Town should talk to them about donating this parcel to the Town for a water source. Burgess Trimmer suggested checking with the State first to see if they would permit using the water. Commissioner Morgan will talk to Lehigh.

The American Legion made a $300.00 donation to the park.

Burgess Trimmer said that the Fire Company used the pond on Sunday for dive practice.

Gary Dewees priced a heat pump for the wastewater treatment plant at $4500.00. Commissioner Morgan motioned to have Mr. Dewees install the heat pump. Commissioner Kline seconded. Passed 4-0.

The following bills were approved for payment: Allegheny Power, Clapp & Carper, Document Solutions, N. Z. Cramer, Shannon Baum Signs, Gloria Gladhill, Woodsboro NAPA Auto, H. B. Duvall, C & F Auto, Southern States, Verizon, AT&T, Stambaugh’s, Inc. Eichelbergers, Inc., Arro Consulting, Kappe Associates, and Wind River Environmental.

There being no further business to discuss, Commissioner Smith motioned to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Kline seconded. Passed 4-0.
