The Woodsboro Town Council met
today at
Burgess Trimmer, Commissioners Morgan, Hub, Smith and Kline.
Also attending the meeting was Frederick County Commissioner Michael Cady, Charles Heath with the Frederick County Planning and Zoning, two representatives with the Lawson Property and 6 citizens.
Burgess Trimmer opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. The November minutes was approved with one correction.
Burgess Trimmer opened discussion on the Financial Statement. Don reviewed the statement and all questions were answered. Ken Morgan made one correction to the Parks Money Market account information. The Financial Statement was approved with one correction.
Under old business Don gave a brief update on the Frederick County Sheriffs Department and their wonderful job done. Also reviewed was the new utility billing and general ledger system which is fully installed and being used. It was reported that beginning in January there will be some new fee to be incorporated on the April utility billing to cover January, February and March. The new fee is the Flush Fund. This fee will be a quarterly charge appearing on the Utility Billing. One other fee that will be discussed at the January meeting is the Trash Collection fee.
Don also reported on several
other items under old business. The
sidewalk at the
Dennis gave a brief review on Planning and Zoning. It was decided that Charles Heath would provide the town with previous Planning and Zoning minutes.
Don reported that the website is now up and running with updates being done as needed. The newsletter will no longer be mailed with the utility billing, instead it will be provided on the website. It was also decided that anyone wishing to obtain a hard copy of the newsletter may either stop by the town office or call to have one mailed.
Under new business a discussion
was held on the annexation of the Lawson property. Mark Lancaster with Lancaster Craftsmen Builders
presented plans for the Lawson property.
Three issues discussed was the entry off
The next line of new business was with Mr. Grimes. Mr. Grimes approached the Town Council with a survey of the property by Arnold Alley. He asked the town to consider deeding a few feet of property to make his property more “square” instead of “pie shaped”. Don suggested that the issue be tabled for a month. The Council agreed.
Two citizens brought up concerns in the town. The first being a basketball hoop that continues to fall into the road. The second concern is a trailer that has been parked in the Copper Oaks development for an extended length of time. Roger Hub agreed to look into both concerns.
The Town Council decided to cancel the December Workshop meeting due to the holiday season.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
