Every year Woodsboro Glen W. Eyler Post #282 provides financial support to the Woodsboro Community. College Scholarships - Every year Woodsboro Post #282 provides college scholarships to local high school seniors. Woodsboro Glen W. Eyler Post #282 academic achievement offers students the financial means to enter college. Over 75 local high school students have received generous scholarship dollars for over 20 years. Several students have moved onto rewarding and professional careers.  

Americanism – If you or organization need an American flag contact Woodsboro Glen W. Eyler Post #282 for details.  We can answer frequently asked questions about the flag, instructions "how to"  fold the flag,  flag history, how to dispose of unserviceable flags, and other flag issues.  Woodsboro Glen W. Eyler Post #282 can provide guest speakers for elementary, middle and high schools.   

Blood Donor Program - Every year the American Red Cross works with  Woodsboro Glen W. Eyler Post #282 for local blood drives. If you would like to donate blood to The American Red Cross contact us for details.  

Boys State – Every year Woodsboro Glen W. Eyler Post #282 sends several local high school juniors to Boys State at McDaniel's College. Activities include legislative sessions, court proceedings, law enforcement presentations, assemblies, bands, chorus and recreational programs. This prestigious program has encouraged boys to pursue rewarding careers in the military and  government.   

Woodsboro Fishing Tournament – Every year  Woodsboro Glen W. Eyler Post #282 sponsors a local "children and youth" fishing tournament. The tournament is free offering awards and food for contestants and parents.   

Frederick County High School Oratorical Contest – Every year  Woodsboro Glen W. Eyler Post #282 hosts Frederick County’s America Legion High School Oratorical contest. The purpose of The American Legion High School Oratorical Contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States on the part of high school students. Other objectives of the contest include the development of leadership qualities, the ability to think and speak clearly and intelligently, and the preparation for acceptance of the duties and responsibilities, the rights and privileges of American citizenship. Cash awards are paid to winning contestants.  

Veteran Assistance - Every year  Woodsboro Glen W. Eyler Post #282 provides medical and financial assistance to veterans and local families in need. All inquiries concerning medical or financial assistance are handled in a professional and confidential manner.   

WNMRC Recreation Council - Every year  Woodsboro Glen W. Eyler Post #282 provides financial assistance to Woodsboro's children and youth programs.
